This website provides you with resources that will help you to build a foundation of knowledge in paediatric patient safety theory and a good understanding of the patient safety reporting and learning system in the UK. It includes key research and reports to help you to identify the areas that are vital for improvement. Learning has been collated from across many organisations and summarised to make it quick to read and easily digestible.
What is the purpose of this site?
The overarching aim of this website is to increase awareness of paediatric patient safety issues and to drive paediatric patient safety improvement activities across the NHS. We want to support training in the fundamentals of CYP patient safety in order to create a safer health care system, to reduce risks created by systems and to develop a robust culture of patient safety. The content address the RCPCH Strategic aims 1 ‘to harness knowledge, data and intelligence to improve the quality of care for children and young people’ & 2 to equip members with the skills and knowledge they need’
Who are we?
The content has been developed by the RCPCH by the QI team and overseen by a team of paediatric patient safety and medical education experts.
How can you get involved?
